Born in Texas, Scott grew up between Texas, New Jersey and Australia before moving to Virginia for college and DC for law school, providing lots of opportunity to observe new types of people living different lives and learn how to blend in (or not). After (mostly) successfully balancing a BigLaw transactional practice and his love of performance by sneaking out of the office to do community theater and then finishing up the working day after rehearsals, he gave in to the siren call of his passion and took the plunge, leaving his law firm job to perform (and audition) full time, starting with Arena Stage's Fiddler on the Roof. He’s been fortunate enough to work with and learn from some of the best in the business, including Tony nominees and unsung workhorse talents, along the way.
Scott is a versatile AEA actor and singer, equally at home in farce, melodrama, dry comedy and realist plays and musicals, with excellent dialect pick-up skills, a wide bari/tenor vocal range with a flexible sound that suits musical styles from golden age to contemporary broadway to Sondheim to pop and rock'n'roll, and strong musicianship/harmony skills. His versatile look, which varies widely with a change of hair, glasses, facial hair and/or costuming, allows him to successfully portray young lovers, comic sidekicks, goofy young fathers or dark men of mystery.
